Beckoning the community
Incorporating a glassed cupola provides natural daylight into the main lobby area of the church while the cupola's featured lighting at night is a welcoming beacon visible for miles.

Tremont United Methodist Church
Tremont, Illinois

Growing beyond the capacity of its beloved 100-year-old church, Tremont United Methodist wanted to retain the traditional character of that building while incorporating state-of-the-art video, audio and lighting control systems.

Gorski Reifsteck Architects met these requirements by placing restored stained glass from the previous building in prominent locations of the new church, moving the original pipe organ to the chancel wall and incorporating a steep roofline, reminiscent of the former church's design.

Seating was arranged in auditorium fashion so the congregation would be closer to worship leaders. Light rings were specially designed for the space; stage lighting systems were incorporated to illuminate a variety of worship styles and events. A video projection screen extends between a soffit and pilasters detailed on the chancel wall.
